This page will serve to keep Brigadoonians informed on information our
neighbors learn about hurricane preparedness and in times of hurricanes
items of importance. The information on this page is totally for your
information only. In no way are any of the sites or information meant
to be an endorsement by Brigadoon, The Raskins, or Royal Highlands.
As you are preparing for the upcoming hurricane season and you learn
information from local resources please email them to Caroll

The folks on Oxford Heights got together and met as a "block" to make a hurricane plan. There model is one that you may want to emulate on your "block" or with a group of neighbors. Some topics they discussed that would get you off to a good start are:
- past experiences and what was learned that could help in the future situations
- items they own and experience each has to assist with emergencies
- use of cell phones and email during emergency situations
- list of emergency numbers (local agencies and family members) and
- list of medications (this form may be downloaded by clicking here)
The best part of their meeting was that they became better friends are going to get together regualarly!

Shutters:
- According to Ron Ney's State Farm agent, Fabric-Shield Storm Panels did not pass the impact test. He also had one of their local agents out to measure, who did not follow through with a written estimate. Prcoeed with caution.
- Ron Ney found another type of shutter made of 3/8” thick translucent waterproof corrugated plastic by a company called Storm Stoppers.
